Dead Ringer Riot

Just making a neat and tidy journal for the DoubleTeam Battle Tournament now known as the "Dead Ringer Riot" :: The original journal announcement can be read HERE. Any info that has been changed in THIS journal is the up-to-date and correct information. Feel free to enter the CosmicCafe if you have any questions or just wanna chit-chat. :]



Rules and Stuff:


Character Requirements:

1) NO fancharacters. Let's try to be a bit more original here, mmkays? If you would like to use your Curiah City or Mummer Muse fancharacter, ask me first. If your character seems original enough (not a ripoff of one of my own characters) I'll let it in. :]

2) Maximum of 8 characters per team. This does NOT mean you and your partner have to have an even number of fighters (i.e: 2+2, 4+4)- it means the total number of fighters on one team cannot exceed 8. There is a minimum of 1 fighter.

3) Character reference image(s) MUST BE IN COLOR. Even if it's just color swatches for your characters' skin/hair/eye color. There has to be some sort-of color guide for your opponents to follow.

Battle Requirements:

1) There is a MINIMUM of 3 pages per comic battle entry; a MAXIMUM of 12. You will be penalized if there are any less than 3 pages.

2) Comics do NOT have to be in color- however, you're chances of winning are greatly increased with a nice coloring job or a good monochrome scheme.

3) Your comics may read from left to right OR right to left. Just be sure to specify which direction to read- if we have trouble reading your comic, you will be penalized.

4) Comic pages should be submitted to deviantART as SEPARATE DEVIATIONS either in your Main Gallery or Scraps. Please link to each page when noting your battles to me.

5) Battles MUST portray your team defeating your opposing team in some way- this doesn't have to be a fight to the death, it can be a game of football or twister if you prefer. Feel free to include other teams in your battles as long as they aren't directly fighting for you or your opponent's team.

6) You will be given 2 WEEKS (14 days) to complete your comic battle. If you need more time, send me a note and I will grant EVERYONE in the tournament more battle time. At the end of the 2 week battle period, judging will begin and the next battle will start the following week.

Team Registration:

1) TWO MEMBERS PER TEAM. No more, no less. This is a collaborative contest, not an angry mob and not a one-man showstopper. If you need a partner, NOTE ME and I will pair you up with someone else. I make sure to try to choose people whom I think will work well together. :]

2) Once you have found a partner and know what characters you will be using, note me with the following:
~Team Name
~Team Members (dA names)
~Character(s) Being Used
~Ref image(s) for each character -NOTE, you may register your team if your ref pics aren't done. I'll still list you- just be sure to have your ref pics in by Friday, August 10 or your team will be disqualified.

The above judges will judge based on creativity, entertainment, and quality. Quality is relative and will be judged based on what we see you to be capable of- NOT based on what your opponent is capable of.
